I am skirting fiber, and I find that it creates a lot of static which makes it difficult to "get rid" of the debris, as it sticks to my hand. I looked this problem up on the web and saw a lot of hype about how alpaca doesn't hold a static charge. WRONG! Does anyone have a tip about how to eliminate so much static while skirting?

I keep a spritz bottle nearby that has a few drops of fabric softener and water. I lightly spray my fiber with that. I also use fabric softener sheets to wipe my hands. I have heard some people keep a humidifier close by and that helps with the static as well. Good luck!

I like the water sprayer, but hadn't thought of the fabric softener. I know to use very little, as the fiber might get coated and then be difficult to card. I have used the sheets, and they are ok, and find the static spray is useless and expensive, and probably not "green" due to the propellent. I will try the humidifier this winter when I am indoors.
Thanks for the ideas!
